WTN: Drew Syrah ValentiRanch '15....(short/boring)

Had this last night w/ DinDin:
1. Drew Syrah ValentiRanch/MendoRidge (13.3%; www.DrewWines.com) Elk 2015: Dark color w/ slight bricking; slight funky/musty some peppery/c-c Syrah/black pepper blackberry/blueberry/Syrah some pencilly/Fr.oak not particularly attractive nose; rather tart/angular slight funky/musty/fusty some pencilly/oak bit c-c/Syrah/peppery flavor w/ modest tannins; med.long some rough/grippy finish that mocks flavor; some interesting c-c/Syrah character but has not evolved in a very attractive way; just a bit too funky/musty & rather tired on the palate.

1. I was rather disappointed in how this wine has evolved. The fusty/musty/funky character was not TCA but just not evolved in a very attractive way. Will try another btl soon.
