Great list, Doris, I'll look forward to your notes. Of those I've only had one, the 82 Montrose. I hope your bottle is as good as ours was. Oh, and--96 for a Gruaud isn't 'old'. Not to brag but we had a 79 last night and it was nowhere close to being over the hill--point is, good vintages of this wine can go decades.

Bob,
Let me know how the '96 Gruaud turned out. I have located 6 bottles for $50 each and am really tempted. I used to purchase every year but have noting after '90

Soujnds like a nice lineup. Too bad about the Talbot.

82 Montrose is nice in good bottles. 90 de Sales is probably best wine ever made there. I also like the 90 Sociando. Actually, of the whole group only the 96 Gruaud-Larose is a bit weak (not a bad wine, but to me an underachiever for the vintage).

Think you nailed it Dale!
Some quick notes as I am up early. Great tasting but de Sales did not do it for many of the 15 there tasting. 90 Potensac was very good but the Sociando was tops for many closely followed by the G L. Forumites, if you have the `96, drink up soon. The Montrose was past its peak, well this bottle was but some variation from comments I heard.
Chasse Spleen did not really figure but was not a bad bottle. Will post real notes asap.

Heres another tasting tonight Tuesday...Dourthe export director in town. Will post asap.

**** Well I`m back and not much to report on!! The Sauternes was nice. There was a house style apparent with the reds but not much fruit with any of the reds. Oak, oak shall I go on?
