NV Sean Thackrey Pleiades XXXII Old Vines California Red Blend
Opened it last weekend, had a glass I liked a lot, then put it aside and had another glass last night, which I loved. This is a wine I've enjoyed in many past vintages, and this rendition is as good as any has ever been, a perfectly balanced, complex blend of red and black fruit with compelling spice and silky tannins. So glad I bought a case.

It's as good a version as I've ever had, I think. Even if Sean didn't do the final blend, it has his spirit all over it.

I’m a big fan of XXVI, but this one is very good. I suspect I will like it more in a couple of years.

The amount of depth mine acquired over four days suggests that's entirely correct.

Popped a bottle tonight. Yum. It’s so spicy with zero new oak.

Went to a party last night, tried at least 10 wines. None were even half as interesting as this!
