TN: 1997 Leonetti Cellar Merlot Columbia Valley

1997 Leonetti Cellar Merlot Columbia Valley - I usually do a cellar review around this time of year t locate and wines that may be heading over the hill and I chose to open this one. Much to my surprise it showed medium clear red colour, had some excellent if very slightly dusty fruit and on palate showed very good sweet fruit levels balanced by optimal acidity and a lengthy finish. Wish I had more of it! Last bottle, so I won't get to share with my tasting group but I do have some cabs of similar age I'll put in the tasting queue.

Yes - and as SWMBO was off seeing relatives (better her than me) I had to finish the bottle myself. A martyr to the cause!
Don't worry though, I still have a few bottles of their cabs to pull the cork on.
