WTN: Morgon and Gavi

Hmart marinated chicken thighs, king oyster mushrooms, yu choy, rice
2021 Louis Claude Desvignes Corcelette Morgon
This was pretty exuberant after release, but seems a bit shutdown now. Red fruit, spice, tannic for Gamay. Leave alone for a while. For now B- but think will show well in 5-8 more years.

A fave fishmonger moved into new space closer to us, made my first visit. Oysters, then Mussels, clams, and spinach over angel hair
2023 Broglia La Meirana Gavi
Canteloupe, pear, a little grass, a saline edge, moderate acids. Nothing compelling here, but clean and easy, and at $12 closeout it can stake a spot in the “open this for cooking without a second thought” cache. B/B-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.

Good to hear about the Desvignes Corcelette, Dale. FWIW, I note that John G suggests 2031 as the beginning of its drinking window. I don't even want to think about how long I'll have to wait for the Javernieres....
