Tried these five afore my trip back to Kansas:
1. Forlorn-Hope King-Andrews/SuisunVlly WW (11.66%; Vermentino/TrousseauGris/Chasselas/CheninBlanc/GreenHungarian; 47 cs) Murphys/CA 2017: Med.gold color; slightly fragrant sorta grapey/earthy/loamy slight pungent/Zinnias not very interesting nose; fairly soft metallic lightly grapey/earthy/stony bit mineral unthrilling flavor; a rather rustic/coarse finish that tracks flavor; a singularly undistinguished white; age isn't taking this anywhere interesting; just an earthy/boring expression of WW, reminds some of Seillon.

More geeshersplat from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. A rather mixed bag of wines. None anything really profound but some pretty interesting.
MatRorick is rather interested in obscure varieties that he regards as forlorn-hopes. He was very interested in resurecting Green Hungarian to its former glory. He took some cuttings of the variety from the Library Vnyd in St.Helena & convinced Roger King to plant a few rows for him. He never bttld it as a single varietal that I am aware. I tasted a few from barrel & found them unremarkable. So much for former glories of Gus Sebastiani & Fred Weibel.
