- 2019 Turley Zinfandel Kirschenmann Vineyard - USA, California, Central Valley, Lodi (11/1/2025)
Top notch Zinfandel! Integrated, elegant (!), and intensely flavorful, this was one of the more complete young wines I have had in a very long time. I am sure it can age, but gosh it’s good now!

What’s the alcohol %? I gave up on them a while back when I had one that was like fire water, which the label said was over 16%.

15.2%, but I did not notice it at all. Tegan seems to have a knack for integrating the alcohol in the wines. Pre-Tegan Turley wines often seem more overtly alcoholic to me regardless of the actual alcohol levels.

My worst offending Turley zins were vintages from the late 90s, so my experience tracks with yours. Maybe I’ll have to look for Tegan era Turley.
