2003 De Toren Fusion V - this South African wine is a left bank Bordeaux blend, in this case:
Cabernet Sauvignon 55%
Malbec 14.5%
Cabernet Franc 9.5%
Merlot 18%
Petit Verdot 35%

The wine presents as a very good quality Bordeaux - made in classic method, with French oak, and showed impeccable balance and excellent length, with no obtrusive oak as is still often found in North American cab blends. Tasted blind I wouldn't have placed it anywhere but Bordeaux. Long silky finish, black fruit and slight cedar notes. A very good wine. I have nine vintages so intend to start tasting them to see how they have developed.
