- 2015 Ramey Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard - USA, California, Napa / Sonoma, Carneros (10/20/2025)
Some wines are like a bolt out of the blue, while others have a warm familiarity, but still always impress. Ramey Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay is one of the latter. After drinking probably at least 20 different vintages of the wine, I know what I am going to get within a certain narrow tolerance. This bottle was in that zone. Toned down spice, mellowed fruit, but still 100% recognizably Ramey Hyde. I suspect of I were to open another bottle in three or four years it would just be slightly mellower, but no less enjoyable, no less recognizable as one of the great pairings of winemaker and vineyard.
