1994 Kanonkop Paul Sauer - this was the flagship wine of Kanonkop, which is Stellenbosch S.A. The wine is named after the patriarch of the winery and is made of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc - a South African claret It comes across as a Bordeaux, and a big assertive one. The nose is correct (i.e. no American oak). with some cedary notes and excellent balance and length. It is still going strong - recommended!

I recall you also have the '96. Or is 'had' more correct?
