1999 Morisfarms Maremma Toscana Avvoltore - a preliminary note - this winery shows up as Moris Farms and Morisfarms, but the latter is the name used by the winery. This is a blend of sangiovese, cab sauv, and syrah. Medium colour and with a fair bit of sediment, the wine has a nose of cassis fruit and espresso and it is medium weight and medium length. Purchased on release 20 years ago, it is now fully mature and may be tending toward genteel middle/old age. Still drinks well, though. Thought I had drunk my last bottle a couple of years ago but found this and it hasn't changed much since the last tasting.

Morisfarms is a name I never heard until a Wine Fanatic dinner in DT Van, planned by Dave Cooper IIRC, at a restaurant with a woman's name, something like Ruby Dee's. Two bottles of the same outstanding Morisfarms wine showed up (one brought by David N.), and the food for what each dish was in and of itself but also for pairing with the sangiovese-based wines was fantastic. One of the best that group ever did.

Not sure I've had one since, but probably.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
