WTN: Bodegas Lurton Malbec Reserva 2004

by Bruce Hayes » Fri Mar 16, 2007 7:57 pm

Valle de Uco. Mendoza.

From Jacques and François Lurton.

Very dark purple in the glass.

Lovely nose, smokey, spicy, tangy berry and red licorice.

Black cherry, tangy acidity, peppery, very black and tarry, smokey, spicy, sweetish, with a light creaminess.

Drying on the finish, tarry, peppery and some bitterness.

Purchased at $13.95 (Canadian).

I have that exact same wine (and I'm still gonna use it for Bobs Focus on Argentine Malbec). I just haven't had a good excuse to open it. Thanks for the heads up.

Hello Bruce,
Have you been to the Open Mike Malbec thread? It's a great thread for a Mendoza related Malbec TN like this one.

Bruce,
If you find yourself missing any Grand Cru Burgundy or high-end Champagne, well, that mystery has been solved too. Don't woryy, I'll post notes!
