Tried these two new wines last night:
1. Secret de Schistes IGP Cotes Catalanes (14.5%; GrenacheGris; http://www.Chateau-de-lou.com; Grape Expectation/Richmond) 2022: Med.dark gold color; fairly floral/marigolds bit herbal slight resinous/earthy/stony bit haymow rather fragrant nose; lightly tart lightly floral/herbal/resinous bit haymow/freshly mowed grass slight stony/earthy bit zinnias/marigolds/pungent quite dry bit complex rather intereting flavor; med.long haymow/marigolds finish that tracks flavor; has a slightly rustic character; a rather interesting white unlike any that I can recall; a classic SFrance white. $32.00 (SFW&S)

Pheasant'sTears Quinta Rose Kartli Region Georgian Wine (12.5%; http://www.PheasantsTears.com; natural wine; Goruli Mtsvane, Chinuri, Danakharuli, Shavkapito, and Tavkveri; Jenny & Francois Slctns/NY) Sighnaghi/Georgia 2021: Light red/dark rose color; lightly floral/rose petal bit simple/grapey rather coarse/rustic very strong natty/unclean/some bretty rather unattractive/unclean nose; soft light rosepetal/floral/strawberry quite earthy/coarse/rustic fairly natty/unclean flavor w/ light coarse tannins; med. coarse/natty finish that tracksflavor; a very unattractive/coarse very natty/unclean rose. $25.00 (SFW&S)

1. The Pheasant'sTear was just too natty to me to get much pleasure from. After it sat on the counter for 4-5 hrs, much of the natty character disappeared; turning it into a simple grapey/earthy rose. Still offered up no pleasure whatsoever. Extra credit will be awarded to whoever can correctly pronounce the names of the grapes.
