2003 Falesco Lazio Montiano - this merlot based IGT wine was very dark, with a nose of sweet jammy plum and cocoa - not subtle but interesting. Lots of smooth sweet fruit on palate and a lingering finish. One could be forgiven for thinking that Falesco had taken on a Californian winemaker!
