2013 Maquina & Tabla Toro - this wine from the Spanish area of Toro which is far the the west near the Portuguese border. It is a bend of tempranillo and garnacha. I don't recall why I bought this - perhaps I came across a note on it. In any case the wine is still quite dark and has a sweet fruit nose (although the wine is quite dry in the mouth). Lots of mixed berry things going on - both raspberry and strawberry seem to meld. Smooth now and interesting, with a medium length dry finish. Worth a try if you come across it. Would be a tough one in a blind tasting!
