WTN: Not THAT Monsanto!

  • 2019 Castello di Monsanto Chianti Classico Riserva - Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Classico DOCG (6/26/2025)
Surprisingly supple, disturbingly drinkable, and lovingly luscious. This is not Chianti as I generally know it, as it is more suave and debonair than anything I have had in my dastardly long memory. Not exactly what I am looking for in Chianti Classico, but it sure is an enjoyable drink.

Most of my Monsanto experience is with much older vintages, but my impression was they were fairly traditional -only traditional grapes, mostly botti with only a small percentage barrique (used), In any case sounds good..
Maybe someone should do a dinner with Monsanto reds and Dow ports.
