WTN: Querceto Chianti Classico Riserva

2020 Chianti Classico Riserva, Castello di Querceto

Good sangiovese color, aroma, and flavors. A bit rough in the tannin and acidity department, but five years past the vintage is early for a Chanti Classico Riserva. I'd give it at least five more years to learn some manners. No, this isn't Isole e Olena by a long shot, but neither was the price. I found it at the NH state liquor store as one of their Power Buys for US$16. It's good value at the price. Larry Moe.

Is this your first-ever post on a Chianti? So unusual for you; sounds like a good buy, though.

Yes, Chianti normally isn't on my radar screen. Back in the 1980s I was very fond of Isole e Olena, but the shop that was carrying it went out of business. I figured that at this price one couldn't go very far wrong. I bought two bottles and the first one was corked.
