No wine Tuesday with takeout Chinese before a meeting

Wednesday tuna steak with a soy/ginger marinade, fried rice, broccoli
2023 Domaine du Fossile “Le Rose” Chinon
A bit lighter style than Baudry, but lovely mineral crispness and taut raspberry and cherry fruit, gets herby with air, fine fine value. B+/B

Thursday roast chicken, radiatore with cherry tomatoes, salad
1999 Dominique Laurent “La Refene” Pommard 1er
Lifted nose, some oak but not as overbearing as I feared, but not really pleasant- overripe berries paired with a strange vegetal note. Not for me. C+

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
