- 2016 Il Poggione (Proprietá Franceschi) Brunello di Montalcino - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino (6/12/2025)
I’m not much of a Brunello drinker, but this was excellent, especially free several hours of air. Dark red fruit, good freshness, some dusty/leathery complexity, and a supple finish that only put out its claws at the very end. I could happily drink all my bottles in the near term.
