- 2008 Bertrand-Delespierre Champagne Premier Cru Brut Millésimé - France, Champagne, Champagne Premier Cru (5/21/2025)
From my late father's cellar (I had never heard of this producer before), this was served alongside a scallop and lobster dinner. Aroma and palate had a definite red apple focus, and there was a bit more hidden complexity when paired with the lobster that had been spritzed with lemon. More minerality, some brighter tones - it freshened up nicely. Still I would advise drinking up sooner rather than later. Quite enjoyable for a weeknight, but nothing special.
