Tried this leftover Stacey saved for me:
1. ShenandoahVnyds Calif Orange Muscat AmadorCnty (16%) ShenandoahVnyds/Plymouth 1984: When Stacey pulled this hlf btl from her Dad's cellar, the cork had fallen into the wine and the lead capsule was the only thing protecting this wine. Deep brown almost PX/black color fairly murky/cloudy; very strong Oloroso/Bual Madeira lightly orangey/muscatty fairly oxidative quite complex beautiful nose; quite sweet strong Bual Madeira/Oloroso sherry rather orangey/orange liquer/bit Grand Marnier quite complex some oxidative flavor w/ a bit of alcoholic heat; very long/lingering rather sweet fairly Bual Madeira quite complex finish that tracks flavor; clearly an oxidative Bual-level Madeira but quite a beautiful dessert wine that's still going strong; Orange Muscat character fairly dominated by the oxidative character. $nc(BSvSG)

More grizzlespurt from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. If memory serves, Lee Sobon at ShenandoahVnyds was the first to plant Orange Muscat in the Shenandoah Vlly, in keeping w/ his love for dessert wines. This is probably the first OrangeMuscat that Lee made. This is a fortified wine used to stop the fermentation leaving some RS. Wasn't surprised this was still in such good shape.
