I thought I had run out of this wine 5 years ago but very happy to have discovered 2 more bottles. Popped one tonight. Mastroberardino Naturalis Historia Taurasi 2009. Named after Pliny the Elder's work on natural history. Pop and pour. Very dark, lots of dark chocolate, meaty, a bit leathery. Still slightly firm tannins so likely has a little more to go before peak. A very nice drink now with some prime rib and spaghetti puttanesca.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
