Pray for Me... White Zin

Stacey was rummaging thru her Dad's cellar. She's bringing to our Wed tasting, two...count 'em.... 2 btls of David Bruce White Zinfandel '79. 16.2% alcohol. Both ullaged below the shoulder, with the cork floating in the wine of one of them.
I predict the wines will be better than they have any right to be. Short/boring TN to follow.

Wow, 46 year old White Zin! But coming from the late Dr. David Bruce, anything is possible, as you well know. I have distinct memories of a couple of his Pinot Noirs that weighed in above 15% ABV -- not for the faint of heart.

The good DrBruce made some interesting wines. In '73, he did an Estate Chard that clocked in around 16.5%. Tons of new Fr.oak but really quite good.

There are some mid-late 1990s David Bruce wines in my dad’s cellar. Thankfully not White Zin!

It was not White Zin but Estate White Riesling.
TN's to follow.
