Had this Syrah from the archives last night:
1. Carlisle Syrah DryCreekVlly (15.0%; 230 cs) SantaRosa 2008: Very dark color w/ some bricking; some cedary/pencilly/oldRed rather spicy/Syrah/blackberry/blueberry bit DCV/raspberry light toasty/Fr.oak some complex/aged Syrah mature attractive nose; soft strong spicy/blackberry/Syrah/blueberry some toasty/Fr.oak bit peppery light pencilly/cedary some mature complex flavor w/ modest tangy/drying tannins; very long spicy/Syrah finish that tracks flavor; an attractive spicy/DCV Syrah that shows a bit of cedary/pencilly age & starting to dry out a bit but still quite pleasurable; fully mature & then some; very much in the Carlisle style & a bit lighter than his other Syrahs.

More tikkeltoe from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Left out overnight on the counter, it lost most of the cedary/pencilly aged character, was much more rich Syrah fruit, and the tannins had soften a bit. Somewhat more attractive the last night's P&P sample.
