Pork tenderloin, chickpeas, and spinach
2019 Hureau Les Fevettes Saumur Champigny
Hureau fan but first time trying this bottling. Red and black raspberries, green tobacco leaf, a little leathery. Easy supple tannins. Seems to be holding a bit in reserve, but not harm in drinking now. B+/B

Red perch in a soy/ginger marinade
2013 Trimbach Geisberg Grand Cru
Lovely and long, citrus and pit fruits, just a hint of incipient petrol. Crisp acids, mineral finish, good job. A-/B+

Oysters
2019 Pepiere Ch Thebaud Muscadet
Rich and rocky, crushed stone with herbal overtones. Fresh acids, big for Muscadet. B+

Sauteed chicken with meyer lemons
2006 Jadot “Baudes” Chambolle-Musigny 1er
Black cherry, earth, a little espresso. Pretty meaty, blind wouldn’t have gone to Chambolle, but I enjoyed. Could use a few more years. B+/B

(will do separate report on Saturday 1975 claret tasting)

Sunday grey sole, kale on sourdough
2016 Jadot Beaune Blanc
Never seen this bottling before. Ripe and a bit tropical, some vanilla-y oak, modest finish. OK, couple use more zip. B-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.

I bought the 2009 of the Trimbach Geisberg. Haven’t seen it at retail since.

Yes, village character is often hard to identify without the benefit of the label!

And in this case, while I'm no expert, Jadot and Baudes are a combination that might not lead to some of the stereotypical Chambolle elements. Again, I'm no expert, but Baudes is right next to Sentiers on the MSD side, which is another vineyard that doesn't always taste very 'Chambolle'.
