Six years since the last time I had this wine. Feels like a lifetime ago.

No decant - just pull the cork (in 2 pieces), and pour a small glass while finishing up dinner prep. Initial reaction - holy cow is this good! It's open, a little bit lush, and very perfumed. Your aromas will probably be different from mine, but macerated raspberries, smoked meat, roses, and a touch of vanilla all came through clearly for me. On the palate I would never have guessed a nearly 13 year old wine, as there was only a bit of the meaty element poking through the richly textured fruit. From a textural standpoint this feels open and ready to drink, but tannins are still there - just buried. Probably a good 10-15 years of development left for this bottling. The question is are any of us patient enough to find out what will happen in 2035 or 2040. If you have multiple bottles, I think opening one soon is a great idea, as it's uber-delicious right now.
