Blaufränkisch is one of my favourite red vinifera varieties, especially in its Austrian and Hungarian (known there as Kékfrankos) iterations. I love its high acid and Syrah-resembling peppery spice. I pretty much pounce on the wines whenever I see them at Vintages.
Blaufränkisch - Central Europe's Favourite Red Grape
Blaufränkisch is my favourite name for the variety as well, although it goes by a dizzying array of names: Blaufränkisch, Lemberger, Kékfrankos, and possibly others (this is mentioned in the write-up referenced above).
