We had this Wed night w/ a BD celebration at Pig+Fig of chocolate:
1. Lagier-Meredith Precious Bane MtVeeder/NapaVlly (18.6%; 75 cs; Syrah grapes; SaH: 29.0Brix)
Lagier-MeredithVnyd/Napa 2014
: Very dark color w/ slight bricking; very intense Porto intense grapey some alcoholic bit MtVeeder/spicy/peppery strong grapey/Syrah/boysenberry aome toasty/oak quite Porto-like nose; soft quite sweet very Porto/grapey/Syrah/boysenberry fairly hot/alcoholic flavor w/ modest ripe tannins; very long some hot/alcoholic finish that mimics flaver; will go another 10-20 yrs; lots of youthful ruby Porto-like character; $48.00

1. This '14 was, I believe, the last Precious Bane Steve&Carole made. It was fortified, I believe, w/ pure ethanol. So doesn't show the hot/harsh alcoholic character from the higher alcohols that you find in Portugese Porto. But it is loaded w/ youthful Syrah/boysenberry character & should have a long life ahead of it.
