- 2018 Ultramarine Blanc de Blancs Keefer Ranch Sonoma Coast - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (2/3/2025)
Well this was a more than pleasant surprise! After being underwhelmed by the 2017 Keefer BdB a while back, I was less than thrilled that the 2018 was bundled in with the wines I wanted for 2018. This bottle completely turned my head around. Bright, precise, but in no way austere, it had finely detailed lines of aromas and flavors that included fruit, bread/yeasty elements, and a salty/stony backbone. My wife, the harsher critic, gave it a "mmm...mmm" rating, which is almost as high as her rating scale goes ("oh my" is her top grade). I would have to say that this was my favorite bottle of young Ultramarine since the 2012 and 2013 Heintz Blanc de Blancs were released.

Impressed!
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
