More lippertfick from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. These whites were all made from the Vermentinu grape, also known as Vermentino. They all came from Kermit-Lynch, who has one of the best Corsican portfolios around. Of these 5 Verm, I liked the Maestracci and the Giacometti Agriate the best because of their strong floral aromatics & strong touch of minerality.
Verm is one of my favorite white varieties. Particularly those from Corsica and Liguria. They show a strong floral aromatics character w/ a god touch of mineral/saline character. I also like the ones from Calif because they have very strong aromatics but only suggestions of the minerality/savory character as the others. But it's a very good grape.
