Barossa.
The last bottle of a lot I bought several years ago in London.
Was concerned when I drew the cork, since the wine stain was fairly far up on the long cork.
Decanted about 30 minutes before our meal.
Deep purple in the glass.
An amazing nose: soft, plush, rich, earthy, spicy, sweet cherries, pencil lead, red licorice, coaco.
Very rich in the mouth, fairly plush, bright cherry fruit, pencil lead, spicy, floral, cinamon candy, with a rather annoying harshness toward the finish.
After the first glass, the harshness faded, only to reappear toward the end of the decanter, taking on a rough, strong alcohol, bourbon-like taste.
