2017 Idlewild Nebbiolo Fox Hill Vineyard Mendocino County
A lot of wines that start life on the lighter side gain weight over time; this never has. Day one: light-bodied pale pinkish red with sour cherry and cranberry fruit carried by a hint of tar and bold acidity that barely suggests nebbiolo. Pleasant, though. Day two: straight out of the fridge there's obvious improvement. It's fuller and more impactful, even with that chill on it--in fact, delightful this way. Just perhaps texturally closer to Beaujolais than Piedmonte.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

I opened a 2016 tonight. It’s lovely - perfumed. Shockingly light bodied but not light in flavor
