Christmas wines.

With a creamy style lamb curry last night, we enjoyed the 2015 Willi Schaefer Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Kabinett. Intended to drink alongside a baked salmon in foil, it was a huge compliment to the curry. Colour was rather off-putting, almost caramel, but as it opened this really sprang to life....the age and acidity stood right up to the lamb shoulder curry sauce. An orange chardonnay from Languedoc went really well with the salmon. Stay tuned for more.

Christmas was Wednesday last week, Bob. How long shall we stay tuned?

Sounds like some good wine-food matches. And glad the caramel color on the Schaefer did not mean the worst.
