Tried these two new whites over the last few daya:
1. Knewitz Appenheim Gruner Silvaner Trocken Rheinhessen (12.5%; EB; A.P.Nr. 4 339 143 029 23; SkurnikWines/NY) Weingut Knewitz/Appenheim/Rheinhessen 2022: Med.gold color; some GV/white pepper lightly floral/R-like/Silvaner/grapey slight chalky fairly pleasant nose; soft off-dry (0.4%-0.6% r.s.) lightly floral/Silvaner slight GV/white pepper rather simple/dull flavor; med.short soft/floral/Sylvaner finish that tracks flavor; speaks quietly of GV/white pepper but a rather simple/dull white & too sweet for a trocken; lacks acidity. $27.00 (SFW&S)

2. Famille Gueguen Chard AC: Bourgogne Cotes Salines (12.5%; ElentenyImports/NY) Celine & Frederic Gueguen/Chablis 2022: Light yellow color; pleasant Bourgogne/Chard rather flinty/mineral/stony bit lightweight classic Chablis-like nose; quite tart/tangy bit metallic some flinty/steely fairly classic Chablis totally dry attractive flavor; very long flinty/saline/mineral/stony/metallic light Chablis-like/Chard finish that tracks flavor; a very modest PetitChablis-like Chard at a very fair price; a good stand-in for a Petit Chablis. $27.00 (SFW&S)

More diddlespurt from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. The Cotes Salines is a small area just outside the boundary of Chablis. The wine shows a lot of PetitChablis character.
