2014 Domaine du Pégau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée Red Rhone Blend
Day one: had just one glass. Nice, but surprisingly mature. Four days later, which was yesterday, and during which this bottle had been re-corked and refrigerated: Nose of roasting coffee beans and boiling hops (neither's nice), with soy sauce and stewed plums on the palate.
Poured it out and opened:
2015 Domaine de Cébène Faugères Les Bancels Red Rhone
PnP'd. 50% Syrah, 35% Grenache and 15% Mourvedre. Fruit covers the gamut of the red basket with pomegranate and raspberry out in front. Bright, lively, joyous. I've had a few different Cebene wines lately, and they sure hit QPR on the head. This is a wine you can open and serve to anyone, and I appreciate having a few of those around.
