Pikes Riesling Hills&Valleys ClareVlly/SouthAustralia (11.5%; www.PikesWines.com.Au; CountryVintner) PikesVintners/Clare/SA 2013: Med.dark gold color; beautiful gout de petrol/Mosel valve oil/pungent very complex some floral/R/mango/bit citrusy lovely nose; very tart/tangy/bit metallic strong Mosel valve oil/petrol very complex strong R/floral/mango beautiful flavor; very long petrol finish that follows flavor; a classic example of an aged ClareVlly R that will go another 10 yrs; beautiful R at a great price. $14.00

Arbe Garbe WW SonomaCnty (14%; 45% Catie'sCorner MalvasiaBianca/ 30% Pagani Ranch old vine Tocai Friulano; 25% Tanya'sVnyd RibollaGialla) ArbeGarbe/St.Helena 2015: Med.light gold color; quite attractive floral/Friuliano/carnations slight herbal/muscatty lovely TokaiFriuliano some complex nose; lightly tart fairly rich/lush very attractive floral/Friuliano/carnations light chalky/earthy somewhat complex flavor; very long finish that tracks flavor; a very attractive floral/Friuliano that is very Friuli in style and developed some complexity but a bit on the quiet side; quite a lovely expression of a Friuli-like Friuliano

1. ArbeGarbe is the wnry that makes wine in a Friuli style, which is where Enrico & Paulette hail from. Enrico is the winemaker at Flora Springs. I like their wines quite a lot.
