Susan & I tried these two whites last night for DinDin:
1. Jakob Schneider Melaphyr Riesling Trocken Nahe (12%; Q; A.P.Nr. 7 750 05219 23; Skurnik Wines/NY) Weingut Jakob Schneider/Niederhausen/Nahe 2022: Light gold color w/ lots of tiny bubbles that cling to the sides of the glass; some stony/chalky/mineral/earthy bit off-dry very slight R/mango/floral rather unthrillinguninteresting/bit vapid nose; fairly tart/tangy fairly chalky/mineral/earthy rather lean/spare bit watery/vapid slight R/floral rather simple/dull flavor; short some chalky/stony finish follows flavor; a pretty dull/vapid/uninteresting expression of R; much like a cheap Liebfraumilch but not as sweet; a CharlesShaw expression of R. $23.00 (SFW&S)

Maruxa Godello Dd'O: Valderras/Spain (13%; www.VirgenDelGalin.com; Arano/BocaRaton/FL) Virgen Del Galin/Entoma/Espana 2022: Med.gold color; pleasant stony/earthy lightly floral/carnations/Godello rather simple nose; lightly tart somewhat rich/lush some earthy/stony/chalky ightly floral/Godello/carnations rather simple/grapey/unthrilling flavor; med.finish that follows flavor; a pleasant enough expression of Godello but just that. $20.00 (SFW&S)
