2018 Tasca D'Almerita Catarratto Sicilia Regaleali
Randomly selected this from the wine fridge to accompany a shrimp and mushroom paella. Unfamiliar with the grape or how this even ended up in my cellar in the first place. Deep gold color; obviously oxidized with a heavy saffron aroma. On the palate, mushrooms and orange marmalade. Offputting and would have been a disaster with anything other than the paella I was making. We therefore kind of enjoyed a glass with dinner, then poured the rest out.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
