WTN: Thankful for Lagier-Meredtih

by David M. Bueker » Sat Nov 09, 2024 11:23 am

2021 was the last vintage for this wonderful winery run by two wonderful people (Pott Wines now uses the fruit from the L-M vineyard), but I am more than thankful to have a deep vertical of the Syrah. Only a few bottles of the other wines, but this one was lovely.

Quite lush, but in no way overblown, and all the pieces are in balance. Dark fruit and savory are equally matched. Drinking very well now, but with fruit and structure to be held, though I don't see a reason to do so, as it's delicious now.

I see there are 4 California wines in the top 10 of the WS 100 of 2024.

And a Chilean #1. Second time for that wine.
