We tasted last week at Pig+Fig the new TablasCreek releases. TomTierney brought to share a few of his older TablasCreeks:
1. TablasCreekVnyd Viognier Estate/AdelaidaDist/PasoRobles (12.5%) 2022: Med.dark color; strong pear/peach/Viog bit herbal/Condrieu-like light earthy/chalky/mineral rather complex light pencilly/oak nose; lightly tart strong Viog/pear/peach slight herbal/chalky slight pencilly rather complex flavor; very long pear/peach complex finish that tracks flavor; a rather subtle/complex light peach/pear/Viog complex mature Viog way far away from DollyParton territory; not a lot of in-your-face Viog fruit; one of the best mature TCV Viogs I can recall having.

2. TablasCreekVnyd Panapolie Estate/AdelaidaDist/PasoRobles (13.5%; 54% Mourv/24% Grenache/22% Syrah) 2021: Very dark color; very fragrant spicy/plummy/Mourv/blackberry/Syrah light pencilly/oak quite complex slight Rhonish/smokey nose; rather Rhonish/smokey/blackberry/Syrah/slight plummy some cedary/pencilly/oak slight dusty/OV rather complex flavor w/ modest tannic bite; very long/lingering quite complex finish w/ modest tannic bite; a lovely Panapolie that is already showing some maturity/complexity but will probably go another 5-10 yrs.

More fricklestrip from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. The Panapolie is the top-of-the-line TCV red. It sells for a significant price point over the TCV Esprit Rouge. I usually buy extra of the Esprit but seldom more of the Panapolie, even at the discounted futures price it is usually offered at. It's always a better/bigger red than the Esprit but not worth the price differential to me.
This was one of the best Panapolies I can recall having. I may have to change my buying strategy. I thought it was a step up from the Esprit, but I think w/ more age, the higher price may be justified.
