Vinho Verde is a fun non-serious summer wine, not worth a premium price. We get 10 of them in BC, one in cans. The Maria Bonita at $20 is about as good as it gets at $20. More than a few of us likely cut our teeth on Casal Garcia and it is still a respectable summer quaffer.

Wine in cans! Last July when passing thru Oliver I asked salesman if they stocked cans.
"This is wine country buddy..we only use bottles!!"

Then about 5 mins down the hwy, a huge sign advertising wine in cans. LOL.

I went to Quinta Aveleda - the winery that produces Casal Garcia - in June this year while on a Douro river cruise. Tasted the Vinho Verde and was told it was 'named after a long serving winery worker and was made in the old way with added sweetening and pettillance.' It cost €4 there.

I've not seen it in the shops here but Quinta Aveleda produce 21 million bottles of different brands annually and export 70% of them to around 70 countries

I enjoy Marita Bonita. It is about the only Vinho Verde available in this part of provincial France and is very good QPR costing around €7.
