As with a half bottle last year, the cork was a complete disaster. The wine was not. Oddly, given only the year or so from the prior bottle, this was while not “mature” certainly in a wonderful drinking place. Deep red fruit, kirsch notes, it’s fun and disconcertingly easy to drink. There’s still a lot of back end tannin, so I’ll be cautious with my full bottles, but the future is extremely bright.
