- 2012 Albert Boxler Gewurztraminer Brand - France, Alsace, Alsace Grand Cru (10/6/2024)
Wow! Just wow. Yeah it's sweet, but that's Alsatian Gewurztraminer in the era of climate change. What matters is the delineation of flavors and the balance which is flawless. The richness carries every element of Gewurztraminer (you know the drill - rose petal, lychee, pineapple, etc.), and it just glides across the palate. It never feels heavy. It's twelve years old, and has the freshness of a newly released wine. Fantastic stuff that I wish I had more of, but happy to experience it this once.
