1989 Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignon
I called my last bottle ready to drink 16 years ago, but this was holding fine. Resolved tannins, lively acids, red fruits, green herbs, and a touch of green pepper. 12.5% and certainly no fruit bomb, but nice example of old school CaliCab. Much better than vintage rep. B+
To Irvington for a small Rosh Hashanah dinner, I offered to bring wine, hosts said sure but they weren’t drinking (meds), so didn’t feel like bringing just for me. . So no wine with chicken soup, asparagus, and root vegetables.
