Cracked this wine last night for something different:
1. Castelli Nebbiolo Estate/GreenVlly of RRV/SonomaCnty (13.6%; Dry Farmed; Aged: neutral Fr.oak for 48 mo; www.CastelliVineyards.com) Sebastopol 2018: Med.color correct for Nebb; very strong floral/lilacs/violets/rose petal light tarry/pungent bit earthy/dusty/OV beautiful classic Nebb some complex nose; fairly tart strong floral/violets/rose petal some dust/OV slight pungent/tarry some complex flavor w/ tart/tangy tannins; very long tart rather tannic finish that tracks flavor; very much like a lesser Piemonte Barbaresco w/ no signs of its Calif origins; still needs 4-8 yrs of age; one of the best Nebbs from Calif & very Italian/Piemonte in character.

More nebbiplot from TheBloodyPilpit:
1. Emilio Castelli consistently make one of the best Nebbs in Calif. Usually showing more richness & lushness when young, this '18 is evolving in a very Piemonte-like Nebb. Left out overnight, the tannins on the palate mellowed considerably.
