- 2019 Desire Lines Mourvèdre Experimental Series #4: Fred Rides Again - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Contra Costa County (10/1/2024)
Checking in again on this about a year and a half from my last bottle. It remains an umami bomb. I don’t get much fruit, but the savory elements come in waves. Earth, soy, leather - the soul of Mourvèdre is set alight in this wine. It’s gentle from a structural standpoint, so I will likely finish off my last bottle soon, but what a pleasure this is for my palate. Fantastic pairing with black bean tacos.
