Tried this wine the other night:
1. Jaffurs Syrah MelvilleVnyd/SantaRitaHille/SBCnty 2002: Very dark/near black color w/ no bricking; beautiful very cracked black pepper/c-c Syrah very strong Syrah/blackberry/ripe boysenberry strong toasty/Fr.oak rather complex nose; fairly tart/tangy very intense c-c Syrah/black pepper strong blackberry/Syrah/spicy/ripe boysenberry strong toasty/Fr.oak/charred rather complex fairly tannic/rugged flavor w/ ample hard/rough tannins; very long/lingering intense c-c/peppery Syrah finish that follows the flavor; a beautiful example of c-c Syrah but pretty rugged tannins that may never soften & smooth out; shows a bit of drying out on the palate.

More issicktrup from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. The MelvilleVnyd is one of the coldest Syrah vyds Jaffurs takes from. Probably even colder than the BienNacido vnyd. It's consistently one of Craig's best Syrahs.
