We were blessed with decent weather for what may be our last outdoor wine event, Ribs and Rosé. We had six people and six bottle of pink wine, and three courses of ribs.

The first one was stretching the definition of ribs a tad but no one objected when a platter of sous vided lamb chops showed up with a mustard based sauce. The wine presented with it were:

2019 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Rosé de Pinot Noir - very pale, with a sweet candy sort of nose, and good acidity. Tasty wine.

2022 Copia Rosé – this 60/40 grenache/mourvedre blend was considerably darker than the previous wine and had a pleasant berry nose. Paso Robles.

I was up for the next course and we had done pork ribs with a customized rub that we had used before – it includes a bit of brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic and onion powders, ground mustard, cinnamon, celery salt and a bit of cayenne, slow roasted and not seared over flame – they just about fell apart on their own. Served with:

2022 Synchromesh Cabernet Franc Rosé Storm Haven Vd.- medium colour, very pleasant nose of red fruit and a long clean finish.

2021 Kelley Fox Wines Pinot Gris Rosé Maresh Vineyard – darker colour and a very pleasant strawberry/raspberry nose, juicy on palate with hints of spice. Long clean finish. Very good.

Last course was another slow BBQ and then baked, with two sauces, a vinaigrette and a molasses.

2022 Clos Cibonne Tibouren Cuvée Tradition Rosé Cru Classé – another berry nose, and a mid pink/peach colour, nice herb and spice component and good length.

2022 Domaine de la Mordorée Tavel La Dame Rousse - 60% grenache, 15% cinsault, 15% syrah & 10% clairette. Darkest wine, complex berry/herbal nose and some terminal spice notes. Very good.

That sounds wonderful.

Wanted to get a last shot at summer before the autumn weather sets in - it is getting cool up here! Have another lunch this Thursday and am crossing my fingers for that one not being wet or too cold to do outside.

What a great menu and array of wines. The Cibonne and Mordoree are two of my alltime favorite rose producers, and if anyone ever asked me to recommend an Oregon rose Kelley Fox would be the first name out of my mouth. So sorry we couldn't be there.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
