This was my DinDin wine last night:
1. Arnot-Roberts OldVine WW Campagni-PortisVnyd/SonomaVlly (13%; Plntd: 1954; Field blend of Sylvaner/Riesling/GWT; Co-frmtd; 2 brls) Forestville 2009: Med.dark gold color; strong nutty/toasted hazelnuts some Mosel valve oil /bit old Rheingau R bit pencilly beautiful complex nose; quite tart/tangy bit steely/metallic fairly rich/lush very strong old German R some Mosel valve oil some nutty solme old Rhone/Marsanne white light pencilly quite complex flavor; very long/lingering finish that tracks flavor; a beautiful/complex fully-mature old White that resembles some an old German Rheingau/an old Alsace R/a bit of an old white Rhone; no signs of oxidation (except the good kind) or eminent demise; a beautiful old/fully mature Calif white.

More skizzlefrick from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. The A-R whites on release are often pretty lean, near eviscerated, and not particularly attractive. But this wine put on considerable weight & developed into a beautiful complex old white. Sometimes you just gotta believe & trust your instincts.
