2015 Giuseppe Cortese Barbera d'Alba Morassina - I seldom drink Barbera (but every time I do I can't help thinking that there should be a winery called Hanna that produces it), but this is what I grabbed for the dinner bottle last night. Still fairly dark, and with a pleasant nose of berries and black olives with hints of spice and black pepper. Drinking well now. I have some Sandri of the same vintage - time for a comparison taste!

There is a Hanna Winery in Sonoma. Never been, but I checked their website: not a drop of Barbera, even as a blender. Too bad; they could have produced an imitation Barbera d'Alba and called it the "Great Grape Ape" (except for those pesky trademark lawyers).
cheers, Patchen
